A Cháirde,

Firstly, thank you all for being such generous and loyal supporter of our great club down through the years, and with your ongoing help we can go from strength to strength and continue with the upgrading of facilities in Caherlag.

However, during the Covid 19 lockdown Erin’s Own fundraising suffered somewhat as some of our fundraisers were impacted, with sellers unable to go door-to-door because of the virus. A planned Corporate Lunch fell by the wayside, and we missed out on one of our Golf Classics due to the lockdown, of course the Astro was also out of bounds, and we lost revenue on that also. The Rebels’ Bounty draw proved a huge bonanza, and that draw is ready to roll again shortly, so we are asking for your continuing and steadfast support.

Work is beginning on a very modern irrigation system on the main pitch and then later work will hopefully start on the re-surfacing and irrigation of the floodlit top pitch. A revamp of the gym is also on the cards, and work on the new coffee shop is set to commence shortly. When those vital works are completed, the most important project of all lies ahead. And that is the urgent need to purchase six or seven acres of land where we can lay out more pitches to cater for the needs of the huge number of young people already in the club and those projected to join up in the years ahead.

These are expensive projects and it’s vital we get them completed, particularly as we expect a huge increase in playing numbers due to the surge in new housing in the parish.

That’s where the upcoming Rebels’ Bounty comes into play because that draw is a major money- spinner and of huge significance as the club plans for the future. We led the way in Cork last year with record Bounty numbers and a profit of €57,000.00 , so hopefully with your help we can equal or surpass those figures, we also had over 20 winners last year in the draw including our January €20,000.00 winner.

Erin’s Own followers have never been found wanting, so we are appealing for another show of solidarity by asking you sign up again for the Rebel Bounty draw.
