A historic breakthrough for our club with our first adult county win. After years of heartbreak and near misses, we achieved our goal of winning an Intermediate County.
We were defeated in the final in 1982. However we came back to win this our first county, in a very special year, the centenary year.
Unique for our time as we had joint captains, Tom Aherne who was the captain on the pitch for Ger Bowen who was out that year with injury.
